Funding the Work
Profit serves Purpose…
InesSense is a for-profit social enterprise – a business that makes a profit that serves social & environmental purpose.
Like any business, expenses need to be covered, along with income for the sole-proprietor. Unlike most businesses, finances are transparent, and will be posted yearly on the website, along with an impacts report, so that patrons, supporters and donators can see directly how their financial contributions make a difference.
Like a non-profit or charitable organization, InesSense operates with an Advisory Board that helps to guide its mission and oversees the financial goals of the company.
Funding comes in many forms, and is directed to community initiatives & program sponsorship:
A portion of all product sales and program fees are set aside;
Crowd-funding is through Patreon and the “Amblings” page of the InesSense website;
Donations are received in the form of physical items (textiles, beeswax candles, equipment…), time (volunteers), and money (Donations page on website).
