Naturally-dyed upcylcled fabric swatches (cotton; linen; and cotton-linen blends) for your crafting and sewing pleasure!
This kit includes: 7 swatches, sizes ranging from 5”×5” to 12”×18” (or larger) — some swatches will be square and some will be rectangular. Swatches will have raw unfinished edges, with the exception of handkerchiefs and doilies. Your kit will include 1 dyed vintage handkerchief or 1 dyed doily as part of the 7 swatches.
Expectations: Please note that natural botanical dyes are alive! The colour will change with time, with washing, and with sun-exposure. This is part of the magic and beauty of natural dye.
Natural dyes are not uniform. I specialize in mottled and marbled dyeing. Yellow colours will vary with the thickness and texture, as well as which plants were used – generally you will have a range of “yellow” in your kit (from pale lemon to deep gold).
Use swatches for patchwork, embroidery, quilting, mending, crafting, or sacred handwork (such as making Motanky).
