Visible needle weaving as mending and repair.

When you contact me, we will set up a time and instructions/ directions for drop-off. This can include a short consultation and estimate.
All items for mending must be clean (preferably non-scented soap) prior to drop-off.
A note with your name, contact information, and requested service must accompany your item(s). I will not be able to cross-reference an email request to an unaccompanied physical item.
There is no limit to the number of items you include for mending, repair or re-working.

Simple mends, like replacing a button, fixing a torn hem, or repairing a small hole extend the life of your clothes and textile items, reduce textile waste, and support circular economy.

Every hole or tear is an opportunity for art…
Medium to larger sized tears, holes, and worn fabric ask for creative repairs and approaches. My mending style is “visible” and artistic. I draw on numbers of techniques, including needle-weaving, patchwork, applique, embroidery and visible crocheting.
These styles add character, interest and unique designs to your beloved items. Due to the creative nature of the mending work, I begin with a short (15-20 min) consultation regarding design and colour before proceeding with the work.
Generally, repairs will range from $60-$100+.

Some items become beloved friends. My favourite cardigan has been repeatedly mended, over and over. The original threads are simply wearing-out with time. There will come a point when it will be more “mend” than original sweater. Yet its character continues to evolve, and that’s exciting to behold.
Some items are simply beloved friends and finding ways to help keep them in our lives is precious. It is an act of care and creative love.
I am happy to work with you to find the right re-working of your items. My mending and re-working style is “visible” and artistic. I draw on numbers of techniques, including needle-weaving, patchwork, applique, embroidery and visible crocheting.
Generally, re-working will range from $100-$300+, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
We begin with a 20-30 minute consultation. A design plan and estimate will be provided prior to commencing work.
