Cozy Winter Shawl

$305.00

Protecting the Earth while warming your heart and adorning your body…

Made from 100% upcycled fabric and embellishments:

heavy mixed fibre upholstery fabric (soft to touch) with two “good” sides (so the inside also looks lovely!);

large crocheted table cover (acrylic yarn);

cotton muslin with acrylic & cotton lace dyed with onion skins (lower border front and back);

leather strip with yarn tassle plus stone botton for clasp;

thrift-store thread;

cotton tassels with logwood dye;

mixed colour tassels from end-of-skein alpaca yarn (hand-dyed).

Wrist to wrist: 50”

Shoulder to bottom: 34”

This shawl has been lovingly assembled with predominantly hand-stitching. The lower border was attached with machine-stitching.

Wear it indoors during winter for cozy cuddle time, and outdoors over sweaters or layers for added coziness and protection. This shawl is weighty and thick, perfect for keeping you warm!

Care: Hand-washing is highly recommended, or use the “delicate” cycle in the washing-machine. Hang-dry overnight, then put in dryer for a short time on low heat for the finish.

  • Whether on ceded or unceded land, to live respectfully within land means to recognize the interconnected nature of land and all who inhabit it. And it means to recognize the interconnected nature of time – that the memory of “what was” is alive here and now. Your blood and bones tell the stories of countless generations of beings, their evolutionary path, and the wisdom, wounds and scars they carried. It is alive in you. All that the land has experienced is alive and expressed in it – through the plants, the stones, the animals and insects, and through you. There are direct treaties or agreements and laws of conduct that are written between peoples on shared land. And there are treaties or contracts we share (in heart) with the ancestors, spirits, and with the land itself… This is my acknowledgement of these connections, contracts, and agreements.
